Itinerary

Day 1:
Drive in Option- (Distance 140km)

Upon arrival at Maun International Airport, our staff will be there to welcome you. Once luggage has been loaded, we will head off for the Moremi Game Reserve.

This journey through the bush and remote local villages takes about four hours, Tea, coffee, soft drinks and a light snack drinks will be served along the way. You will arrive at the camp in the late afternoon where you will be welcomed by our camp staff.

Once you have settled in, we meet around the fire or main camp area for a safety briefing, camp procedures and safari etiquette. There is an opportunity to shower, relax and unwind while dinner is being prepared. After dinner, the evening under the African stars awaits.

Day 2 & 3:
Moremi Game Reserve Exploration

An early wake up calls invites you to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and rusks at the main camp area overlooking pure wilderness. We depart on our early morning game drive to explore the Xakanaxa area and should return to camp at about 10h30 to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast. We are very flexible with time when we out there in the bush enjoying the sightings. After breakfast take time out to read a book, siesta or simply take in the majestic vistas and connect to nature.

High Tea will be served at around 15h00, after which we depart on our afternoon game drive. Sundowners will be served at a scenic spot affording unforgettable memories of this African tradition.

Day 4:
Transfer Day (Moremi to Khwai Nature Reserve -50km)

Following an early morning breakfast we take a slow drive through Moremi Game Reserve north-east towards the Khwai Nature Reserve. The Khwai River meanders through the concession giving ample riverside routes to explore.

Day 5 & 6:
Khwai Nature Reserve Exploration

Wake up to the sound of gentle giants cracking a twig as they walk past the camp to head out for their morning drink of water. Watch the elephants walk past as you crunch down on your warm rusks. After breakfast we depart on our early morning game drive to explore the Khwai area and should return to camp at about 10h30 to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast.

Khwai allows a mokoro excursion during the afternoon will take place subject to water levels – we venture into the magical waterways of Khwai for about two hours. Sundowners will be served at a scenic spot affording unforgettable memories. Khwai also allows for night drives so your afternoon drive will be extended by an hour to see what the night life has to offer. A roaring fire and a delicious meal await upon your return. Share your adventures around the fire, gaze into the unbelievable star studded sky above and settle in for the night in the African Bush.

Day 7:
Transfer Day (Khwai to Savuti-115km)

Wake up to the roar of the mighty roaming lions as you drink a cup of freshly brewed coffee. After your last game drive in Khwai, we head further north en-route to Central Chobe region, exploring the desert-like landscape on game drives – enjoy a packed lunch in a shady spot along the way. The camp staff will pack up the camp during this time and we will move to our new location in the Savuti area. We enter Savuti and reach camp at approximately 16h00.A late afternoon game drive is available for those that want to set off on another adventure but you are also most welcome to relax and enjoy the serenity and peace of the camp after a long day. Sundowners around the fire followed by a tasty dinner that awaits. Spend the evening sitting around the fire listening to the calls of nature as the night sets in.

Day 8 & 9:
Savuti Exploration

Although the routine for these days follow more or less the same pattern, every day brings new perspectives and a multitude of new sightings. We discover new areas and new memories are made every day.

We depart on our early morning game drive to explore Savuti and should return to camp at about 10h30 to enjoy a sumptuous breakfast. After breakfast take time out to read a book, siesta or simply take in the majestic vistas and connect to nature.

High Tea will be served at around 15h00, after which we depart on our game drive into Savuti. Sundowners will be served at a scenic spot affording unforgettable memories. A roaring fire and a delicious meal awaits upon your return. Share your adventures around the fire, gaze into the unbelievable star studded sky above and settle in for the night in the African Bush.

Day 10:
Departure Day (Savuti to Chobe River Front-172km)

On our final day on safari we will leave Central Chobe early to travel along the Chobe River arriving in Kasane where we will stop for a picnic lunch before taking an afternoon boat cruise to end the safari. As today is a long day we recommend either spending a night or two in Kasane in a lodge or two nights in Livingstone or Victoria Falls. For those transferring to lodges in Kasane or across to Zambia/Zimbabwe it is recommended that your transfer be organized to meet you at Kalahari Tours at 15h30
